The 2017 edition of beating competition took place at Ipetu-Ijesha today 4th of March among two notable streets namely “Odoise” and Ifofin. Each street has a representative(competitor), the representatives came out and started beating themselves in turns. The more a participant could withstand a particular beating session, the higher the points earned by such participant. Whichever street that won will be given a price from the king. Amiloaded correspondent was at the event, and had a short interview section with the two representatives from each street. The participants claimed they feel no pain during the event. A few days ago, news went viral about the headless body of an unidentified young woman found along the Amanwaozuzu-Ogwa road in Imo State on Saturday morning. Well, she has been identified as an Abia University student called Sandra. It was said that she went to club with her friends and she followed a guy to an unknown destination and never returned. As shared by Friday Oduma, who also shared photos and posts of people who knew Sandra. Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) ransacked the residence of the founder of the Jonathan/Sambo Youth Support Movement (JYSM) also known as Jonathan Youth Vanguard, Mr. George Turnah, carting away several documents before leaving. The country home of Turner, situated in Kolo town, Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, a few minutes’ drive from the former President’s Otuoke abode, was raided by the officials of the anti-graft agency who were in search of incriminating evidence against the 33-year-old businessman and politician. However, Turnah, who bagged a Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) award in 2011 during the erstwhile Jonathan administration, was said to have escaped just minutes before the security operatives arrived. It wasn’t particularly clear for what reason the EFCC was after the man popularly known as the godson to Goodluck Jonathan but he was said to have handled several contracts for the Jonathan government

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta has called on the Nigerian parliamentary delegation to South Africa to extend its fact-finding mission to other Nigerians being kept in solitary confinement in various South Africa prisons. MEND said secret xenophobic attacks take place in South Africa prisons. It listed its former leader, Henry Okah, who is currently serving a jail term at Korkstad Prison in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Province of South Africa among those suffering xenophobic attacks in the country. In a statement on Saturday by its spokesman, Jomo Gbomo, MEND said, “There are hundreds of Nigerians in South Africa who are serving various prison sentences or awaiting trial. From the reports available to us, many of these Nigerians are subjected to xenophobic attacks as they are regularly singled out for harassment, on account of their nationality or arbitrarily isolated in solitary confinement, by South African prison officials. “We, therefore, call on

Troops of 8 Task Force Division, Nigerian Army, on clearance operations under the auspices of Operation LAFIYA DOLE in the North East yesterday had an encounter with Boko Haram terrorists at Chikun Gudu, northern apart of Borno State. During the encounter, the gallant troops neutralized quite a number of the terrorists, while others escaped with gun shot wounds. They also captured gun trucks, arms and ammunition as well as 14 terrorists. The troops captured 2 Toyota Gun trucks stolen from Niger Republic Defence Forces, 2 Toyota Hilux Gun trucks, one of which was taken by the Boko Haram terrorists from 153 Task Force Battalion location sometime back, a 25 HP Yamaha Outboard Engine, 2 Solar panels and 5 empty Belts of Anti-Aircraft Guns ammunition links. See The Moment Stranded Nigerians Were Transported In A NAF Aircraft From Mali

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has airlifted some stranded Nigerians in Mali back home. The Nigerian Embassy in Bamako leveraged on the NAF Charlie-130 Hercules aircraft to airlift these Nigerians that were victims of human trafficking.  The deportees range between 16 - 28 years of age were received on arrival in Nigeria by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Diaspora and Foreign Affairs, Mrs Abike Dabiri Erewa and officials of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). The successful repatriation of these Nigerians was as a result of collaboration between the Nigerian Embassy and the Malian authorities anchored on mutual agreement. The Nigeria Consular Officer in Mali, Mr Abubakar Audu accompanied the deportees to Nigeria.

The secret service is also investigating the ex-governor for allegedly building an armoury in his mansion, which is under construction in Makurdi. The revelation came at a time the National Assembly has been under increasing pressure to make its budget expenditure open. Details of the lawmakers’ annual budget of over $100 billion have been shrouded in secrecy since 2010. The AGF’s annual report, exclusively obtained by our correspondent, said the illegalities were perpetrated in 13 transactions. The transactions involved both chambers of the National Assembly, the Management as well as the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC), and the National Institute for Legislative Studies (NILS). The report said House incurred the highest infraction of N1.1 billon followed by Management, N347.8 million; NILS, N246.5 milliion; the S
