  CBN vows to prosecute POS operators over exorbitant charges The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has promised to prosecute Point of Sale (POS) operators who demand exorbitant charges on transactions. This was disclosed by the apex bank's Governor, Godwin Emefiele during a meeting with members of the diplomatic corps. Emefiele who admitted that there's been some challenges over the Naira swap policy, said the POS operators to be prosecuted are those who charge above the stipulated amount. Emefiele also said that while this is a challenging time for Nigerians, things shouldn't be exaggerated especially by people in authority to create panic. Channels Television reported that he also said that there's no going back on the February 10th deadline.

  House on the Rock has explained why Uche Aigbe, its Presiding Pastor in Abuja, mounted the pulpit carrying an AK-47 rifle. Aigbe caused a stir during Sunday Service when he mounted the pulpit with a rifle. The incident took place during the second service, which frequently has a high turnout of the congregation who come from different parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). This created a scene as the congregation tried to figure out the motive behind such. “Some people are looking for my trouble. And I came here prepared. Today, there are some pastors with the gift of divination who go about ripping people off. This is why we should carry our ‘guns’ and defend ourselves. I will particularly be coming very soon for some of you sleeping in the church,” he said as the church erupted in laughter. Female patient saved from committing suicide at a hospital.

  A female patient has been saved from committing suicide at Parirenyatwa Hospital in Harere, Zimbabwe. The woman whose identity is currently unknown reportedly tried to commit suicide on Monday morning, by jumping from the second floor of the hospital.  She was however stopped from carrying on with the suicide. A ladder was put up to try and assist her to get down to the ground. Some people inside the hospital were also seen trying to assist her from the window. Watch the video below!!! Police arrest Nigerian pharmacy student for drug smuggling in India, recover 15.56grams of heroin.

The anti-narcotics cell of Panchkula in Haryana, India have arrested a Nigerian student for allegedly supplying heroin to drug peddlers.   The 29-year-old Nigerian national identified as Nwosu Echezoma, alias Amaica, was arrested on Sunday, February 12, 2023.  Heroin weighing 15.56 gm was also recovered from the accused, who is pursuing BPharma from a college in Mullana, Ambala, said police His arrest came on the disclosure of Surajpal Singh, alias Robin, 34, a resident of Zirakpur, who was caught with 8.78 gm heroin near Amartex showroom on February 9, 2023.  Singh was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and taken on two-day police remand. During interrogation, he revealed the source of the drugs, leading to Nwosu?s arrest. "The Nigerian national used to source drugs from Delhi and supplied them in and around Ambala. A court sent him to two-day police remand. He will be questioned further to reveal his network, Police source said.
